Boring update
In Germany today for work, so not much chance to read, or watch, or listen to anything. I’m here for a workshop tomorrow with the other IT Leads, and I’m presenting on a Lean Governance model that aims to improve quality, reliability, and predictable quality releases. It’s too boring to go into detail here, but yeah, that’s what I’m doing.
I travelled down with three other colleagues, which was nice. I don’t physically see a lot of my colleagues at all, so the chance to spend three hours in a car with them, and get to know them was probably more useful than I thought initially. Normally I would travel on my own, listening to podcasts and music, which helps me relax. And I could have done again, but to be honest, while I like driving, I just didn’t fancy this dive, especially with icy roads forecast. We got to where our company has it’s HQ at around 1715, then met our boss for dinner at a local restaurant for dinner. That was nice too, nice food, nice evening. I am now back in the hotel, flicking through the news channels, the only ones not in German. Sky, CNN, Bloomberg and so on. Not exactly exciting, but it passes the evening.
I am using my work laptop so can’t really get onto my usual sites, and not the ones I discovered yesterday (see yesterdays blog). A shame, I was really looking forward to digging further into Rate Your Music, Discog, and Record Club. It’ll have to wait until I get back.
Not much on the news, just more about Epstein and how it’s about to sink Keir Starmer. Amazing the damage this man, Epstein, has caused. You’d wonder where it all ends, but as long as it’s not a Reform government, it’s fine.
Right, that’s it. Boring update, sorry, but it was a boring day. Time for bed.
